Hello, I am Mr. Watson.

I will be your child’s teacher this school year. I look forward to teaching your child this year at William T. Machan School.  As for my background:  I was born, raised, and married here in the valley.  I earned my Bachelors degree from Arizona State University, and my Masters degrees from Grand Canyon University.  I have been teaching elementary school for the past twenty years, and this will be my eleventh year in Special Education.   My classroom aides will be, Lee Hernandez, and Mayra Contreras.

In the classroom, we will focus on meeting the needs and goals of each child’s IEP, with a focus on reading, writing, math, as well as science, social studies, and much more.  Respectful behavior in the classroom is extremely important. We will be using the “PBIS” behavioral Model and are excited to help you child learn more about this program and how it will help them through teaching social skills that will help them throughout their lives.   We will continue to meet your child’s needs at their reading level through their IEP goals and the “Wonders,” reading program.

Homework will be sent home daily, but not weekends. please make sure that their Daily Communication sheet is signed and returned back to school each day.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  You are welcome to stop by our classroom at anytime.  Successful elementary education is a true partnership between parent, child and teachers.

Sincerely,

Mr. Watson
